My work is inspired by stories surrounding salvation, stories that I search for in religion, mythology, psychoanalysis and popular culture. I am not interested in depicting a fixed destination, but rather the state of pining and how it can keep you locked in a loop of frustrated desire.

Emily Badescu is a multi-disciplined artist, with a drive for creating visceral soundscapes and a focus on filmmaking. After graduating from Chelsea College of Arts she moved to Brighton and has since had work screened as part of the Cine-City film festival, and was invited by Strike A Light to make a film to commemorate WWI. Making this inspired her to write the script for ‘Sirens’ an inter-war based film currently in development. Her work includes installations, sound pieces, abstract films and films for cinema.
